Permanence Of
This paper is devoted to the equation \((*)\) \(x_{n+1}= x_n^2 f(x_n) g(x_{n-1})\), \(n=0,1,2,\dots\), with positive initial conditions, under some hypotheses concerning \(f\) and \(g\). A difference equation \[ x_{n+1}= F(x_n,x_{n-1},\dots, x_{n-k}), \] \(n=0,1,\dots\) is said to be permanent if there exist numbers \(C\) and \(D\) with \(0<C\leq D<\infty\) such that for any initial conditions \(x_k,\dots, x_0\in(0,\infty)\) there exists a positive integer \(N\) which depends on the initial conditions such that \(C\leq x_n\leq D\) for \(n\geq N\). The authors obtain conditions, for the permanence of equation \((*)\) and study the semicycles of the solutions of equation \((*)\). Finally their results are applied to an example.
