Piecewise linear topology
This paper is a part (chapter 5) of a book on geometric topology. The paper presents an account of piecewise linear topology based on the well-known special literature with the goal to unify various topics found in different papers and to provide the reader with some of the techniques of the subject. It consists of the following sections: introduction, basic definitions and terminology, regular neighborhoods, general position, embeddings, engulfing, handle theory, isotopies, unknotting, approximations, controlled isotopies, triangulations of manifolds. There are 66 references.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0977.00029].
