Problems on approximation by triangles
The paper is a detailed survey of results, problems and conjectures regarding the approximations of bounded plane convex sets by triangles. It is divided into sections according to how the quality of the approximation is measured. The following categories are examined: symmetric-difference metric, Hausdorff metric, Banach-Mazur metric and assorted non-metric approximation problems. Also, statements and conjectures are sorted by the type of triangle used and whether it is an inner or outer approximation or a two-sided approximation by homothetic pairs.
