On the stationary Schrödinger equation with a quasi-periodic potential

We consider the stationary Schrödinger equation (1) \(Ly=- y+q(x)y=\lambda y\) on the real line, where q is a real, quasi-periodic potential. Our aim is to extend the result of Dinaburg and Sinai about the existence of Floquet type solutions - or extended states-to the resonant case and to obtain a large number of spectral gaps, which are generically open.
