The author proves that the quasi-variety of all Z-groups is determined by an independent system of quasi-identities. Also, the quasi-variety Q is determined by an independent system of quasi-identities in the class of all groups without torsion in the following cases: 1. Q is generated by a free solvable group, 2. Q is generated by all nilpotent groups without torsion, 3. Q \(=\) all linearly ordered groups, 4. Q \(=\) all groups, which admit a rigid linear ordering. 5. Q contains the 2-generator free metabelian group and is generated by a finitely generated abelian-by-polycyclic group without torsion, 6. Q \(=\) all right-orderable R-groups, 7. Q \(=\) all locally indicable R-groups.
