This work deals with periodic particulate matrix composites in varying external stress fields. For this, the author considers a linear composite medium consisting of a homogeneons matrix containing aligned ellipsoidal uncoated or coated inclusions arranged in a periodic array and subjected to inhomogeneons boundary conditions. The author uses the hypothesis of effective field homogeneity near the inclusion. The general integral equation obtained for the investigation of infinite number of inclusion problems is reduced to the analysis of a finite number of inclusions in some representative volume element. The author solves the integral equation by Fourier transform method combined with the iterations of Neumann series. He also derives nonlocal macroscopic constitutive equations, relating the unit cell averages of stress and strain, in explicit and closed form, either to a second-order differential equation or to an integral equation. Finally, the author considers local and nonlocal effective elastic properties as well as average stresses in composites containing simple cubic lattices of rigid inclusions and voids.
