Special classes of second-order Bernstein algebras
In a previous paper [Commun. Algebra 22, No. 2, 595-609 (1994; Zbl 0798.17024)], the authors considered idempotent elements in a second order Bernstein algebra, in the general case. In this paper two important special cases are considered, obtaining improved results with respect to those obtained previously. In these cases, the authors study the behaviour of idempotent elements and Peirce decomposition. The first case deals with those algebras having an idempotent element such that \(U^ 2_ e = 0\); the second case, algebras having an idempotent element \(e\) such that \((\text{Ker }\omega)^ 2 \subseteq Z_ e\).
