Asymptotics of Neumann problem eigenvalues in a ``dense comb'' type domain

The authors study the asymptotics of eigenvalues \(\lambda_n(\varepsilon)\) and eigenfunctions \(u_n(\varepsilon,\cdot)\) (as \(\varepsilon\to 0\)) of the problem \[ -\Delta u_\varepsilon=\lambda_\varepsilon\rho(\varepsilon,x)u_\varepsilon\quad \text{in }\Omega_\varepsilon,\quad \partial_\nu u_\varepsilon=0\quad\text{on }\partial\Omega_\varepsilon, \] where \(\Omega_\varepsilon= \Omega_0\cup\bigcup^N_{j=1} G^j_\varepsilon\), \(\Omega_0\subset\mathbb{R}^2\), and \(G^j_\varepsilon\) are thin domains in \(\mathbb{R}^2\).
