Control algorithm of a multidimensional object with a self-organizing adaptive regulator
A new class of self-organized regulators proposed by A. A. Krasovskij, called adaptive regulators, has definite advantages over well-known servomechanisms and algorithms based on optimal control theory. Adaptive regulators do not require a mathematical model of the full system; they are also high speed and have very good noise stability. However, this class of regulators can control only single-input, single-output systems. This paper proposes an extension of Krasovskij's work to muldimensional (i.e, multiple inputs and outputs) systems. The authors' approach is illustated in the stabilization problem for an electron accelerator based on the high voltage glow discharge. Using results from a simulation, the authors show how their stabilization system insures the stability of the accelerator, high quality transition processes, and noise stability.
