The author proves the homotopy equivalence of the Čech cochain complex and the combinatorial cochain complex. Besides, the terms by \textit{S. Lubkin} [Ann. Math. (2) 87, 105--194 (1968; Zbl 0188.53004); ibid., 195-255 (1968; Zbl 0188.53004)] are employed.
