In der vorstehend besprochenen Abhandlung (JFM 35.0820.02) hat \textit{Love} die Anwendung eines \textit{Poisson}schen Integrals bei \textit{Stokes}, Dynamical theory of diffraction (Papers 2, 243), bemängelt. Da auch Lord \textit{Rayleigh} dasselbe Integral benutzt hat, geht er auf die Kritik von \textit{Love} ein und zeigt, daß\ diese nicht das \textit{Poisson}sche Integral in seiner ursprünglichen Form (A) trifft, sondern sich auf eine andere, von \textit{Love} mit (B) bezeichnete, bezieht, die weder von \textit{Poisson}, noch von \textit{Stokes} gebraucht sei.
