Es sei \(A\) eine \(n\)-ziffrige Zahl in einem Zahlsystem mit beliebiger Basis \(x,a\) diejenige Zahl, welche mit denselben \(n\) Ziffern in umgekehrter Folge geschrieben wird (nombre renversé de \(A\)); ebenso \(b\) die umgekehrte Zahl von \(B\). Es werden die Bedingungen dafür aufgestellt, dass \(A+a= B+b,\;A-a= B-b\); die Anzahl der Werte von \(A+a\) wird bestimmt, und einige bezügliche Aufgaben werden gelöst.
