The problem of crystal growth from melt in microgravity is solved by applying a numerical scheme for time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations. A new method for the Stefan problem is developed which allows simultaneous determination of the temperature field and the rate of crystal growth at every time step. The algorithm proposed is the most efficient in microgravity. The applied problem of maintaining a constant rate of crystal growth is solved, and the convection field in the melt is described.
