Verf. behandelt Fragen nach Wahrheit, Beweisbarkeit, Bedeutung und Realität in der mathematischen Forschung. Im Mittelpunkt stehen einerseits Fragen, die sich mit der Dezimalentwicklung von pi befassen, z.B. gibt es darin unendlich viele 7? Ist dies, wenn auch unentscheidbar, wahr oder falsch? Andererseits werden die durch Gödel und Cohen aufgeworfenen Fragen betr. Kontinuumshypothese diskutiert. Dabei taucht am Schluß die Frage nach der Wirklichkeit (was das auch sei) mathematischer Aussagen auf.
