Abstract: We define the vector-valued, matrix-weighted function spaces dotFpalphaq(W) (homogeneous) and Fpalphaq(W) (inhomogeneous) on mathbbRn, for alphainmathbbR, 0<p<infty, 0<qleqinfty, with the matrix weight W belonging to the Ap class. For 1<p<infty, we show that Lp(W)=dotFp02(W), and, for kinmathbbN, that Fpk2(W) coincides with the matrix-weighted Sobolev space Lkp(W), thereby obtaining Littlewood-Paley characterizations of Lp(W) and Lkp(W). We show that a vector-valued function belongs to dotFpalphaq(W) if and only if its wavelet or varphi-transform coefficients belong to an associated sequence space dotfpalphaq(W). We also characterize these spaces in terms of reducing operators associated to W.
