Abstract: For , the function space (; ; ) of all continuous maps from to itself whose topological entropies are larger than or equal to (larger than ; smaller than or equal to ; smaller than ) with the supremum metric is investigated. It is shown that the spaces and are homeomorphic to the Hilbert space and the spaces and are contractible. Moreover, the subspaces of and consisting of all piecewise monotone maps are homotopy dense in them, respectively.
