The authors have proved that the maximal operator in a Herz space with radial variable exponent is bounded. The concept of log-Hölder continuity and the boundedness of Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator are used. As a special case, boundedness of the maximal operator in weighted Lebesgue spaces with radial exponent is shown. The proofs are original.
