Linkage of sets of cyclic algebras

Abstract: Let be a prime integer and the function field in two algebraically independent variables over a smaller field . We prove that if then there exist cyclic algebras of degree over that have no maximal subfield in common, and if then there exist cyclic algebras of degree over that have no maximal subfield in common.
