Abstract: We compute the low dimensional String bordism groups of $B{E}_8$ and $B{E}_{8}imesB{E}_8$ using a combination of Adams spectral sequences together with comparisons to the Spin bordism cases.

The string bordism group of spaces plays a prominent role in string theory. This paper computes the string bordism of \(BE_{8}\) the classifying space of the exceptional Lie group \(E_{8}\) and of \(BE_{8} \times BE_{8}\) through dimension 14. The author computes the string bordism group of the Eilenberg-MacLane space \(K(\mathbb Z,4)\). This computation generalizes computations of Stong of the Spin bordism groups of \(K(\mathbb Z, 4)\) and of Edwards of the Spin bordism of \(BE_{8}\times BE_{8}\).
