A linear bounded operator $T$ acting on a complex Hilbert space is called a 2-isometry if $T^{\ast}\Delta_{T}T=\Delta_{T}$, where $\Delta_{T}=T^{\ast}T-I$. A~2-isometry is called a quasi-Brownian isometry if $\Delta_{T}T=\Delta_{T}^{1/2}T\Delta_{T}^{1/2}$. The Brownian isometries form some subclass of the quasi-Brownian isometries. The authors investigate Brownian and quasi-Brownian isometries and unitary restrictions of linear operators on some of their invariant subspaces.
