Abstract: We prove that for each prime power there is an integer such that if is a -connected, representable matroid with a PG-minor and no -minor, then is representable over GF. We also show that for , if is a -connected, representable matroid of sufficiently high rank with no -minor and , then is representable over a field of order at most .
