Main result (Theorem 1.1): A ring \(R\) is 1-strictly weakly regular if and only if \(R\) satisfies one of the following conditions: (i) \(R\) is a regular ring; (ii) \(R\) is a local ring; (iii) \(R\) is a basic semiperfect ring such that \(J(R)^2=0\) and \(R=e_1R\oplus e_2R\), where \(e_1,e_2\) are primitive idempotents. In addition, either \(J(e_1R)=0\), \(J(e_2R)\neq 0\) and each simple submodule of the module \(J(e_2R)\) is isomorphic to \(e_1R\) or \(J(e_1R)\neq 0\), \(J(e_2R)\neq 0\) and each simple submodule of \(J(e_1R)\) is isomorphic to \(e_2R/J(e_2R)\) and each simple submodule of \(J(e_2R)\) is isomorphic to \(e_1R/J(e_1R)\).
