Abstract: We study the Dirichlet problem for the Monge-Amp`ere equation on almost complex manifolds. We obtain the existence of the unique smooth solution of this problem in strictly pseudoconvex domains.

Let \(\Omega \) be a bounded domain with \(C^{\infty }\) boundary in an almost complex manifold \(M\) of real dimension \(2n\). In this paper, the Dirichlet problem for the Monge-Ampère equation \[ (i\partial\overline{\partial} u)^n =dV \] (\(dV\) is the volume form) is solved in \(\Omega\) for smooth data. The solution is smooth and unique. In particular the result is used to give also existence of solutions of the homogeneous Monge-Ampère equation, which was previously shown by \textit{F. R. Harvey} and \textit{H. B. Lawson} [``Potential theory on almost complex manifolds, \url{arXiv:1107.2584}].
