Ersatz commutant lifting with test functions
Hilbert spaces with reproducing kernels (= (proper) functional Hilbert spaces, including de Branges-Rovnyak and other structured spaces) (46E22) Several-variable operator theory (spectral, Fredholm, etc.) (47A13) Linear operator methods in interpolation, moment and extension problems (47A57) Linear operators on function spaces (general) (47B38) Other nonselfadjoint operator algebras (47L75)
The main result of the present paper -- Theorem 2.5 -- provides a new commutant lifting theorem (CLT) for a given finite family of not necessarily analytic test functions. Together with a certain approximation argument, this result extends the CLT for the polydisc of \textit{J. ,A. Ball, W. S. Li, D. Timotin} and \textit{T. T. Trent} [Indiana Univ. Math. J. 48, No. 2, 653--675 (1999; Zbl 0953.32010)]. The main tool is the technique of reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces. Among other results, an intertwining lifting version of the basic theorem and an abstract Beurling Theorem are presented.
