A logarithm type mean value theorem of the Riemann zeta function
For any integer \(K\geq 2\) it is known that \[ \int^T_0 |\zeta(\sigma+ it)|^{2k} \,dt\sim C(\sigma, k)T\qquad (T\to\infty), \] where \[ C(\sigma,k)= \sum^\infty_{n=1} d_k(n)^2 n^{-2\sigma} \] for all \(\sigma\in (1-1/K,1)\) and all real \(k\in(0, K)\). This paper gives an elegant argument, via differentiation with respect to \(k\), to obtain \[ \int^T_0 |\zeta(\sigma+ it)|^{2k} |\log^h|\zeta(\sigma+ it)|\,dt\sim 2^{-h}{\partial^h\over\partial k^h} C(\sigma, k)T\qquad (T\to\infty) \] for any positive integer \(h\) and for the same ranges of \(\sigma\) and \(k\).
