Abstract: The symmetry of the Hamiltonian describing the asymmetric twin model was partially studied in earlier works, and our aim here is to generalize these results for the open transfer matrix. In this spirit we first prove, that the so called boundary quantum algebra provides a symmetry for any generic -- independent of the choice of model -- open transfer matrix with a trivial left boundary. In addition it is shown that the boundary quantum algebra is the centralizer of the B type Hecke algebra. We then focus on the asymmetric twin representation of the boundary Temperley-Lieb algebra. More precisely, by exploiting exchange relations dictated by the reflection equation we show that the transfer matrix with trivial boundary conditions enjoys the recognized calUq(sl2)otimescalUmathrmi(sl2) symmetry. When a non-diagonal boundary is implemented the symmetry as expected is reduced, however again certain familiar boundary non-local charges turn out to commute with the corresponding transfer matrix.

The author presents a study aimed at generalizing the discussion concerning the symmetry of the Hamiltonian of the so-called asymmetric twin model [see \textit{A. Doikou} and \textit{P. Nartin}, On quantum group symmetry and Bethe ansatz for the asymmetric twin spin chain with integrable boundary; J. Stat. Mech. Theory Exp., P06004 (2006)] to the open transfer matrix case. In doing so, some general results valid for any open spin chain model are first proved. Precisely, it is first derived that the boundary quantum algebra emerging from the reflection algebra with no spectral parameter provides a symmetry for any generic open transfer matrix with a trivial left boundary. Next, it is shown that the boundary quantum algebra is the centralizer of the quotient of the cylinder braid group called B type Hecke algebra and that implementation of a non trivial left boundary breaks the symmetry down to a consistent subset. After doing so, the author goes back to the particular model of the original interest by focusing on the asymmetric twin representation of the specialization of the B type Hecke algebra known as the boundary Temperley-Lieb (blob) algebra [\textit{P. P. Martin} and \textit{D. Woodcock}, J. Comput. Math. 6, 249--296 (2003; Zbl 1080.20004)]. Hence (from summary): ``By exploiting exchange relations dictated by the reflection equation, we show that the transfer matrix with trivial boundary conditions enjoys the recognized \({\mathcal U}_{q}(\text{sl}_2) \otimes {\mathcal U}_i (\text{sl}_2)\) symmetry. When a non-diagonal boundary is implemented the symmetry as expected is reduced, however again certain familiar boundary non-local charges turn out to commute with the corresponding transfer matrix.
