Jede zyklische normale Divisionsalgebra vom Grad \(n\) enthält Größen mit der Minimalgleichung \(x^n = \gamma\). Verf. konstruiert nichtzyklische normale Divisionsalgebren vom Grad vier und Exponenten zwei, die Elemente mit der Minimalgleichung \(x^4 = \gamma\) enthalten. Eine ebensolche Algebra vom Grad und Exponenten vier ist früher von \textit{A. A. Albert} (Bull. Amer. math. Soc. 44 (1938), 576-579; F.~d.~M. 64\(_{\text{I}}\), 82) angegeben worden.
