Es sei \(J (N)\) die Anzahl der Darstellungen der ungeraden Zahl \(N\) als Summe von drei Primzahlen. Für \(J (N)\) hat bekanntlich \textit{I. Vinogradow} (vgl. z. B. G. R. Acad. Sci. URSS (2) 15, 291-294; (2) 16 (1937), 131-132; Rec. math., Moscou, (2) 2 (1937), 179-194; F. d. M. \(63_{\text{I}}\), 131, 132) eine asymptotische Formel bewiesen, aus welcher sich insbesondere \(J (N) > 0\) für große \(N\) ergibt. Verf. gibt eine Modifikation des Beweises dieser Formel; die Abänderung betrifft die major arcs und beruht auf einer Formel von \textit{A. Page} (Proc. London math. Soc. (2) 39 (1935), 116-141; F. d. M. \(61_{\text{II}}\), 1070) über die Verteilung von Primzahlen in arithmetischen Progressionen. Zugleich ergibt sich ein etwas schärferes Restglied als bei Vinogradow. -- Auf S. 689, Formel (11) und eine Zeile später lies \(U (q, - N)\) statt \(U (q, aN)\).
