A new Faà di Bruno type formula
From MaRDI portal
Publication:2634597
The Faà di Bruno formula provides a rule for differentiation of a composite complex function and has the form \(\left ( \frac d{dx}\right )^n f(g(x))=\sum_{k=0}^n f^{(k)}(g(x))P_{n,k}(g;x)\), where \(P_{n,k}(g;x)\) is expressed through a sum of certain products of terms containing derivatives of \(g\). The author shows another closed representation of \(P_{n,k}(g;x)\) containing derivatives of algebraic expressions of the terms \(x\), \(g(x)\) and the derivative of the inverse of \(g\).
