Soit \(U_n(f,x)\) le polynôme d'ordre \(n-1\) admettant dans les points \(x_i = \cos \frac{\pi i}{n+1}\) les mêmes valeurs que la fonction \(f(x)\). L'auteur démontre qu'il existe une fonction \(f(x)\), continue telle que \[ \limsup_{n\to\infty} \int_{-1}^{+1} (f(x)-U_n(f,x))^2\,dx = \infty. \]
