Abstract: We revisit the question of regularity for minimizers of scalar autonomous integral functionals with so-called (p,q)-growth. In particular, we establish Lipschitz regularity under the condition fracqp<1+frac2n−1 for ngeq3 which improves a classical result due to Marcellini~[JDE'91].

In this paper, the authors study the minimizers of scalar autonomous integral functionals with \((p, q)\)-growth. This kind of funtionals was introduced and widely studied by Marcellini. He proved, under suitable contidions on the exponents, the Lipschitz continuity of the solutions. Here, the authors improve the Marcellini's results establishing Lipschitz regularity under the condition \(\frac{q}{p}< 1 + \frac{2}{n-1}\) for \(n\geq 3\).
