Abstract: We investigate the vanishing of $H^1(X,mathcal{O}_X(-D))$ for a big and nef $mathbbQ$-Cartier $mathbbZ$-divisor $D$ on a log del Pezzo surface $(X,Delta)$ over an algebraically closed field of positive characteristic $p$.
