This paper deals with the study of the obstacle problem for Hessian equations on Riemannian manifolds. The main result of the paper under review establishes the \(C^{1,1}\) regularity of the greatest viscosity solution. The proof combines a genalization technique with gradient and second order estimates respectively for the solution of the approximating problem.
