In this paper, the author considers the compact interpolation problem in the nest algebra associated with a subspace lattice. The author first obtains a condition for finite rank operator interpolation in \(B(H)\). Then the author applies this result, together with a result from [\textit{Y. S. Jo} et al., J. Korean Math. Soc. 41, No.~3, 423--433 (2004; Zbl 1081.47073)], to study the compact interpolation problem in a nest algebra and a necessary and sufficient condition is established.
