[For the entire collection see Zbl 0719.00020.] The paper deals with the study of the properties of a constrained extremum problem, in particular with establishing necessary optimality conditions, by considering the image of the mapping \((f,g)\) which gathers the objective \(f\) and the constraint mapping \(g\). By performing the analysis in the image space some known conditions are generalized. Hints are given for extending the study to other topics of the theory of optimization.
