Homological dimension in associative algebras (16E10) Homological conditions on associative rings (generalizations of regular, Gorenstein, Cohen-Macaulay rings, etc.) (16E65) Representation type (finite, tame, wild, etc.) of associative algebras (16G60) Resolutions; derived functors (category-theoretic aspects) (18G10)
Let \(R\) be a Gorenstein ring, \(M\) a left \(R\)-module of injective dimension \(n\), and \(E^n(M)\) the last injective term in its minimal resolution. The authors generalize a result by \textit{K.~R.~Fuller} and the first author [Proc. ICRA VI, CMS Conf. Proc. 14, 175-183 (1993; Zbl 0805.16006)] and prove that \(E^n(M)\) has flat and projective dimension \(n\). Consequently, \(E^n(M)\) has essential socle for \(R\) being an Auslander-Gorenstein ring. For the entire collection see [Zbl 0906.00014].
