Abstract: In the integral cohomology ring of the classifying space of the projective linear group (over ), we find a collection of -torsions of degree for any odd prime divisor of , and . If in addition, , there are -torsion classes of degree in the Chow ring of the classifying stack of , such that the cycle class map takes to . We present an application of the above classes regarding Chern subrings.
