Abstract: In this paper, we consider the family of -functions associated to an orthonormal basis of even Hecke-Maass forms for the modular group with eigenvalues . We prove the following effective non-vanishing result: At least of the central values with do not vanish as . Furthermore, we establish effective non-vanishing results in short intervals.
