Abstract: We derive two main results: First, assume that A, B, An, Bn are self-adjoint operators in the Hilbert space mathcalH, and suppose that An converges to A and Bn to B in strong resolvent sense as noinfty. Fix minmathbbN, m odd, pin[1,infty), and assume that , , and limnightarrowinfty|TnT|mathcalBp(mathcalH)=0. Then for any function f in the class mathfrakFk(mathbbR)supsetC0infty(mathbbR) (cf. (1.1)), lim_{n ightarrow infty} ig| [f(A_n) - f(B_n)] - [f(A)- f(B)]ig|_{mathcal{B}_p(mathcal{H})}=0. Our second result concerns the continuity of spectral shift functions xi(cdot;B,B0) with respect to the operator parameter B. For T self-adjoint in mathcalH we denote by Gammam(T), minmathbbN odd, the set of all self-adjoint operators S in mathcalH satisfying , . Employing a suitable topology on Gammam(T) (cf. (1.9), we prove the following: Suppose that B1inGammam(B0) and let Bauauin[0,1]subsetGammam(B0) denote a path from B0 to B1 in Gammam(B0) depending continuously on auin[0,1] with respect to the topology on Gammam(B0). If finLinfty(mathbbR), then lim_{ au o 0^+} |xi(, cdot , ; B_{ au}, A_0) f - xi(, cdot , ; B_0, A_0) f|_{L^1(mathbb{R}; (|

u|^{m+1} + 1)^{-1}d

u)} = 0.
