Abstract: The Frobenius test exponent operatornameFte(R) of a local ring (R,mathfrakm) of prime characteristic p>0 is the smallest e0inmathbbN such that for every ideal mathfrakq generated by a (full) system of parameters, the Frobenius closure mathfrakqF has (mathfrakqF)[pe0]=mathfrakq[pe0]. We establish a suffcient condition for operatornameFte(R)<infty and use it to show that if R is such that the Frobenius closure of the zero submodule in the lower local cohomology modules has finite colength, i.e. Hmathfrakmj(R)/0Hmathfrakmj(R)F is finite length for 0lej<dim(R), then operatornameFte(R)<infty.
