Abstract: We apply small cancellation methods originating from group theory to investigate the structure of a quotient ring , where is the group algebra of the free group over the field , and the ideal is generated by a single trinomial , where is a complicated word depending on . In we have , so becomes invertible. We construct an explicit linear basis of (thus showing that ). This is the first step in constructing rings with exotic properties.
