Abstract: Let Omega be a bounded open interval, and let p>1 and qinleft(0,p1ight). Let minLpprimeleft(Omegaight) and 0leqcinLinftyleft(Omegaight). We study existence of strictly positive solutions for elliptic problems of the form left(left|uprimeight|p2uprimeight)prime+cleft(xight)up1=mleft(xight)uq in Omega, u=0 on partialOmega. We mention that our results are new even in the case cequiv0.
