Abstract: In this paper, we establish two gap theorems for ends of smooth metric measure space (Mn,g,e−fdv) with the Bakry-'Emery Ricci tensor mathrmRicfge−(n−1) in a geodesic ball Bo(R) with radius R and center oinMn. When mathrmRicfge0 and f has some degeneration outside Bo(R), we show that there exists an epsilon=epsilon(n,supBo(1)|f|) such that such a space has at most two ends if Rleepsilon. When mathrmRicfgefrac12 and f(x)lefrac14d2(x,Bo(R))+c for some constant c>0 outside Bo(R), we can also get the same gap conclusion.
