In the study of varieties of nonassociative algebras, the modules play a key role. In the paper under review, the irreducible unital bimodules, in the variety of right alternative algebras, over the algebra of \(2\times 2\) matrices \(M_2(F)\) are investigated. Two main tools are used: the theory of unital Jordan bimodules for the Jordan algebra \(M_2(F)\) and the theory of unital right alternative \textit{right} modules for \(M_2(F)\) [see \textit{A. M.~Slin'ko} and \textit{I. P.~Shestakov}, Algebra Logic 13, 312-333 (1974); translation from Algebra Logika 13, 544-588 (1974; Zbl 0342.17003)]. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEThe main results obtained are: (i) the determination of the irreducible bimodules up to dimension \(6\); (ii) the construction of infinitely many finite-dimensional irreducible modules; and (iii) the construction of an indecomposable bimodule which is not irreducible, thus showing that finite-dimensional bimodules are not, in general, completely reducible.
