Abstract: We give a simpler proof of a result of Holland concerning a mixed arithmetic-geometric mean inequality. We also prove a result of mixed mean inequality involving the symmetric means.
In the literature, many different proofs of the celebrated Hardy inequality as well as its generalizations are known, one approach is via the mixed mean inequality [\textit{A. Čižmešija} and \textit{J. Pečarić}, Math. Inequal. Appl. 1, No.~4, 491--506 (1998; Zbl 0921.26015)]. Using this, the authors established a simpler proof of a result of Holland concerning a mixed arithmetic-geometric mean inequality. Also a result on the mixed-mean inequality involving symmetric means is shown.
