Abstract: In the present paper, we give some sufficient conditions for to be torsionfree, where denote the divisor class group of the toric ring of an integral polytope . We prove that is torsionfree if is compressed, and is torsionfree if is a -polytope which has at most facets. Moreover, we characterize the toric rings of -polytopes in the case .
