Abstract: We show that the prescribed Gaussian curvature equation in mathbbR2 -Delta u= (1-|x|^p) e^{2u}, has solutions with prescribed total curvature equal to Lambda:=intmathbbR2(1|x|p)e2udxinmathbbR, if and only if pin(0,2) qquad ext{and} qquad (2+p)pileLambda<4pi and prove that such solutions remain compact as , while they produce a spherical blow-up as Lambdauparrow4pi.
