Abstract: In this paper we discuss the relationship between a TRO $mathcalT$ and a sub-TRO $mathcalS$ that is the range of a TRO-conditional expectation on $mathcalT$, a extit{ternary corner}, by investigating a special class $mathcalD$ of bounded linear maps on~$mathcalT$. We pay particular attention to the case when the TROs contain partial isometries.
