Abstract: In this paper, we study the centralizer of a separating continuous flow without fixed points. We show that if M is a compact metric space and phit:MoM is a separating flow without fixed points, then phit has a quasi-trivial centralizer, that is, if a continuous flow psit commutes with phit, then there exists a continuous function A:MomathbbR which is invariant along the orbit of phit such that psit(x)=phiA(x)t(x) holds for all xinM. We also show that if M is a compact Riemannian manifold without boundary and Phiu is a separating C1 mathbbRd-action on M, then Phiu has a quasi-trivial centralizer, that is, if Psiu is a mathbbRd-action on M commuting with Phiu, then there is a continuous map A:MomathcalMdimesd(mathbbR) which is invariant along orbit of Phiu such that Psiu(x)=PhiA(x)u(x) for all xinM. These improve Theorem 1 of cite{O} and Theorem 2 of cite{BRV} respectively.
