Abstract: Let X be a quasi projective scheme over a noetherian affine scheme Spec(A), UsubseteqX be an open subset, and Z=X−U. Consider the map q:mathbbKleft(mathscrV(X)ight)ightarrowmathbbKleft(mathscrVU)ight) of the mathbbK-theory spectra. We give a description of the homotopy fiber of q. Let CmathbbMZleft(mathscrV(X)ight) denote the full subcategory of mathscrFinCoh(X) such that (1) mathscrF|U=0, (2) grade(Z,X)=grade(mathscrF)=dimmathscrV(X)mathscrF. It turns out that the homotopy fiber of q is the mathbbK-theory spectra mathbbKleft(CmathbbMZleft(mathscrV(X)ight)ight). Likewise, we compute the homotopy fiber of the the pullback map g: {mathbb G}Wleft({mathscr V}(X) ight) ightarrow {mathbb G}Wleft({mathscr V}(U) ight) of Grothendieck-Witt bispectra. Consequently, we obtain long exact sequences of mathbbK-groups and of mathbbGW-groups.
